Meridian Auto Works · Garner

We tell you what it needs. Not what it does not.

Diagnosis first, in writing, with photographs. You approve the work from your phone before a spanner moves.

The second-opinion list

Everything we find, sorted into three piles.

This is the whole difference. Most shops hand you one list and let you assume all of it is urgent. You get three, and we tell you which pile each thing is in and why.

Needs doing now

Safety. We will not hand the car back without telling you plainly.

  • Brake pads below 3mm
  • A tyre under the legal tread
  • Any steering or suspension play
  • A leak that is losing fluid

Should be done soon

Not urgent this week. Budget for it in the next month or two.

  • Pads at 4–5mm
  • A weeping seal that is not dripping yet
  • A battery testing weak but starting
  • Belts showing cracking

Can wait

We will note it and check it again next visit. No, you do not need it today.

  • Light surface rust on discs
  • A slightly perished wiper
  • Cosmetic underbody corrosion
  • Fluids darkening but in spec

ASE-certified techs and a written estimate before anything is touched. If we cannot fix it, we will tell you who can.

You see what we see

Photographs, not adjectives.

“Your brakes are pretty worn” is not a measurement. You get the picture, the number, and the option to say no.

“They told me the noise was a heat shield, bent it back, and charged me nothing. The dealer had quoted eleven hundred dollars for a wheel bearing. I have taken three cars here since.”
